We have been building Crowny since 2020, long before loyalty and social rewards became a crowded conversation in the crypto industry. 

The industry moved quickly. Teams came and went. Products launched, pivoted, and disappeared. We stayed focused. We kept investing our own capital and continued building toward a loyalty system designed to scale reliably, with Solana as the underlying infrastructure. 

When we started, loyalty programs were nothing new, and that was exactly the problem. Many loyalty programs were dated, and many still are. Limited performance. Little perceived value. No real fit for mobile-first behavior or the social media era. Even in newer, high-performance, mobile-first loyalty programs, something is missing.

A reliable way to reward social engagement that actually happened.

The new standard for social media rewards

When we started our journey, there was one clear proof point in the crypto space: Brave, with BAT, showed that rewarding user attention at scale was possible. Beyond that, most loyalty and rewards initiatives were still small, experimental, or narrowly scoped.

Over the years, more platforms introduced task-based rewards: like a post, follow an account, leave a comment. On paper, this looks like engagement. In practice, these systems only reward intent (clicks, redirects, or assumed actions) rather than verified behavior.

Verifying social actions is the hard part. Proving they happened, attributing them correctly, and rewarding them instantly across commerce, platforms, and touchpoints is where many fall short.

That’s the problem Crowny set out to solve.

Our social media module is now approved by Meta and verifies real engagement on Facebook and Instagram. Because both brands and members connect their social accounts, actions such as comments, mentions, and hashtags can be verified the moment they happen.

That means our brands don’t reward call-to-action clicks. They reward actions that actually happened. Instantly. While our starting point was crypto, this capability sets Crowny apart across the broader loyalty industry today.

Yet most loyalty systems are still designed around the moment of purchase. Points are awarded after checkout. Engagement before and after the purchase is treated as a marketing expense, not as long-term value creation.

In reality, loyalty is built over time. It is built when customers engage with a brand’s content, participate in its community, and share their experiences with others. They return not because of discounts, but because of the connection they gained with the brand.

Crowny was built to reflect this reality. Our first mission statement was simple: to reward every user for every interaction. That belief shaped how we think about loyalty today. We treat loyalty as an essential layer of the commercial strategy for e-commerce brands. More and more teams agree.

We integrated directly with Shopify because that is where commerce happens, and will continue to happen. With a 10.32% share of the global e-commerce platform market as of 2025, Shopify is one of the most widely adopted e-commerce platforms in the world (Ayatas, 2025). Orders, customers, and brands already live there. Loyalty should not sit on top of that stack as an afterthought. It should be part of it, embedded into the same flow where value is created and exchanged.

At the same time, discovery and engagement increasingly happen elsewhere. That is why we built direct integrations with platforms like Meta. Not to turn Crowny into a social product, but to extend loyalty into the places where relationships are formed long before and after a purchase is made.

With Crowny, users are rewarded not just for buying, but for participating. For engaging with content, sharing experiences, and supporting brands they already care about. These actions are no longer invisible, and they are no longer treated as expendable marketing metrics.
